Sleep, Sick and Steps

Well, we have had a pretty crazy last little while!  And things are just as busy this week...but its good!

Our poor Landon has been pretty sick for about the last 8 days...he has one of those nasty teething colds and this time the teething seems to be REALLY bugging him.  I can feel ALL of the gums along the bottom are swollen and ridgy, so I am not sure if he is getting a few at a time, but none of them have quite broken through yet, and we are sure ready for them to!  His sleep at night has not been interrupted, but his naptimes have been a bit.  He just chooses not to nap or naps for only a short period of time...which is so unusual for him, so I am really praying that it turns back to normal soon.  He has been fairly happy, considering, but he does have his moments and when he's upset, its that very, very sad cry that breaks my heart!  I just wish I could make those teeth come through and not hurt!  He has also been playing "mommy's boy"...and being a bit clingy lately!  I am assuming its partly age and partly being sick.  I do enjoy the fact that he wants to come to me, but by the end of the day, it does get a bit hard to get things done!!

We said goodbye to Jon and that was pretty hard. We have talked with him a few times since being in Ireland, and it sounds like he is settling in very well and enjoying his time!  We had a wonderful time visiting with Shari!  I was very sad to see her go back to Perth.  About 4 months and they are back home for good! YEAH!  Karalee and Ben arrived yesterday and now we have a week full of fun with them!  It is so good to have them here!  Today we have family pictures to do and a celebration dinner for my parents anniversary!

Landon took 6 steps yesterday!!  I wasn't home, so I haven't seen it yet, but Jason was the one who witnessed it!  He is very, very confident, with not much fear, and so he will walk along furniture and then all of a sudden, spin around and GO.  So, we have to watch him carefully, because we have had quite a few tumbles!  All a part of the learning, I guess!  Because he has not been feeling great, some days he doesn't try walking much at all, but then other days, that's all he wants to do.  Just in the last 2 days, he seems to have gotten his confidence to the level where it looks like one day, he's just going to go for it!  We'll see!  Its a lot of fun!!

Here are a few pictures from the past little while.  Landon turns 10 months at the end of this week and we are getting family pictures done tonight as well as I'm sure I will have some pictures of him with Ben and Kare too.  I will post more later on this week!!!

Landon with his daddy at the football game - yep, he's wearing one of those rub on tattoos that was given to him by one of the BC Lions' SuperFans!
Shari and I out for dinner with the girls before the Brooke Fraser Concert
Auntie Shari and Landon
This is Landon's "cheese" face - or a version of it!- he does this everytime we have the camera out now...I am hoping family pictures aren't a gong show (haha)

Hey - sorry to hear about the sleep issues with Landon teething...Ali did the same thing a few weeks ago. It lasted for 8 days and for the past week she has been back to her sleeping schedule. The tooth still hasn't come through though! What can you do though? Love you and hope to see you soon!
