Halloween

My SIL, Shari, and I decided we wanted to make caramel apples this year and so this week we went for it! We really enjoyed doing it and it really wasn't very expensive...I think we spent about $30-35 and we made about 28 apples. We washed and dried the apples, put the sticks in, melted the caramel and then coated the apples with it. After letting them set for about 10 minutes, we melted chocolate and then coated the apples with chocolate and some different toppings (nuts, skor bar, reese's pieces, m & m's and sprinkles). We let these set outside in the cool air for about 15 min and then placed them in bags and put them in the fridge! I tried one that night and it was sure yummy! I have done this once before, but the caramel we used this time is way better than last time! Here are a few photos from our fun:

Landon was a Lion for Halloween this year -- and he DID NOT like it very much!! haha...I knew it would be interesting, but he really didn't like having the hat on, as you can tell in this first picture below! We were not able to get a very good picture of him in the costume, at least not that evening. The morning of Halloween, a photographer friend we knew was doing free Halloween shots, and so we had taken Landon over there and he ended up wearing the costume, and this is the picture she got! It is way better than I thought it would be!!! Most of the time he had tears in his eyes and he was sitting on his grammy's lap the whole time!
Our Landy the Lion

All the kids ready to go

(Landon is hiding in the back of this one)

The funniest part for us was that everytime someone opened their door, Landon said "Hi" and walked into their house. He just didn't understand why we couldn't go in and what this was all about! Hopefully next year will be better!

Now we are hoping to get family pictures done sometime this week so we have something for our Christmas cards, so I'm hoping that with all of our schedules and the weather, something will work out!! I haven't taken a pregnancy photo for a while either, so I'll try to get one today and post it soon!! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Mmmm, those look SO good !

Braeden had a dragon costume similar to the one that Landon had (it had a hood) and it kept flopping over his eyes, so I put a baseball hat on first and then put the hood on. It never bothered him again after that. I didn't have a hat small enough for Rhys, so he went around with his eyes covered most of the time..haha ! I'm sure that's the last year I will get away with that :)
