Family Birthday and Life's Happenings

Yesterday was Landon's actual birthday - 2 YEARS OLD! Its hard to believe. We had our families over to watch the Grey Cup in the afternoon and then we had a yummy ham dinner followed by our traditional mud pie. My mom has made mud pie for us for our birthday cakes for as long as I can remember, so we decided we would start Landon early! As you can see from the pictures, us singing "Happy Birthday" and him looking at the candle was super fun for him. He just kept wanting us to sing over and over again.

He got a wagon as a gift from Mama and Papa and here he is enjoying it!

Opening presents with Daddy
He seemed to like the paper and boxes the best!

Oh, "wow", a new book!

We had so much fun celebrating our little boy! He is a bundle of energy and has definately been giving us a bit of a run for our money lately! We are working on sharing with friends, and I'm sure all kids go through this stage at some point. Landon is usually pretty good, but when we have people here and there are other kids playing with his toys, he can definately get a bit possessive. It gets pretty frustrating at times, but I know its just a stage!
He is talking SO much more lately. Everyday it seems as though he tries a new word. And he has really been starting to put words together into small sentences. His favorite at the moment is "Where daddy go?" or "Where did it go?" He also says "Baby" a lot. Jason and I found a boy cabbage patch doll that we gave him for his birthday and we weren't sure what he'd do with it, but he really seems to like it. He puts his shoes on and off and walks around cuddling the "baby" and playing with him. He also loves playing hockey and tackle with daddy. Daddy is definately his best friend and every morning when he wakes up and after every nap the first word out of his mouth is "Daddy?". I love watching their relationship and interaction. I am really looking forward to seeing how Landon learns to interact with his brother and to see how their relationship with their daddy develops. Its so special.
We are moving in 16 days and so I am in the midst of calling all the gas/hydro/telephone/medical etc companies and changing our address etc. I also am trying to pack as often as possible - but the only time I really have that opportunity is when Landon is in bed or else everything that goes in the boxes comes back out as I go because someone likes to try to "help". And I'm trying to sort through everything, because for a month we will be living in the basement of the new house with Jeremy and Shari and so a lot of our stuff will be stored - so half of my packing is sorting what we will be bringing into the basement and what will be stored for a while. We are really looking forward to moving! For the first month, things will be a bit crazy as Kurt and Char will be staying in the house while they do renos (that is why we will be living in the basement) so there will be 11 people in 1 house for a month! But I'm sure it will be fun and then by the middle of January we will be settling into the upstairs of the house, just in time for baby #2 to join us! Its all happening fast, but I'm glad that we will be all moved in before the baby arrives.
We aren't able to put up any Christmas decorations this year, which is hard, because I LOVE decorating for Christmas. But we have already had one Christmas party with friends and we have a few more events coming up - and I plan to just enjoy all the decorations at friends and families' places. Its amazing that its already December tomorrow - I hope you are all enjoying this season!

Looks like Landon had a very special birthday :)
I know what you mean about not decorating for Christmas... Josh and I are still hoping to be in our new place by Christmas but we're not sure if we'll get the time/chance to decorate! I'm a little sad about that. Next year, for sure, and we'll both be in our new places - so exciting!
