An Unexpected Hospital Visit

Well, we had Landon's first hospital experience here in Perth, Australia!  Our flight from Sydney was not very fun, as Landon had fallen asleep before we got on the airplane, but then had to be woken up because of how they wanted him to be sitting for takeoff - something I"m not very happy about because it hasn't happened on ANY other airline we've flown with, but that's another story.  He cried for a lot of the flight - but it was a pain cry.  We couldn't figure out what it was, except that he was coughing a lot and looked really sick.  We arrived in Perth a little frazzled but glad to see Jer and Shar.  We got to their place and headed off to bed, but Landon had a VERY bad night.  He only slept for 15 min at a time and cried and cried all night long.  The only thing that kept him asleep for any length of time was when I bounced with him - so needless to say, none of us got any sleep last night.  He was still quite upset this morning and looked terrible and I really felt like we needed to take him somewhere to get checked. Jer and Shar have a friend who is a pediatrician so they called him and he met us at Children's Hospital in Perth and got him checked out for us.  We spent about 2 hours there and Landon got all checked and was given some painkillers.  He has a pretty bad viral infection and so his throat is really raw and his nose is running and he has a weird rash all over.  But - the painkiller they gave us (their version of Children's tylenol) seems to work good - he still has his moments of pain and his voice is really raspy and he has a bad cough.  We are really praying that he sleeps well tonight and starts to improve so that we can really enjoy our week. Jason and I are very thankful that God has given us the strength to deal with this, as we haven't slept in a few nights and are quite jetlagged, but are feeling pretty good considering.  So....we go on.  We'd appreciate your prayers for our little guy as he gets better.  Jer and Shar's friend is going to be coming by the next few days to check on Landon for us - What a blessing!
