Palm Springs so far

Hello from Palm Springs! It is wonderful here...the weather has been around 20-26 degrees and today is supposed to be 31! We arrived here on Wed morning, and because we couldn't check in right away, we drove to the outlets, grabbed lunch and did a bit of shopping. Then we hit Super Target for some groceries and then made our way to the timeshare. The timeshare we are staying at is about 20 minutes outside of Palm Desert in Indio. It is really nice out here and the condo is great. We have a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and about 4 different pools in the complex and a lazy river.

We decided that on Thursday we would drive to LA and go to Disneyland for the day. We thought we would do it right off the bat so that we spent the rest of the trip relaxing. It was just under a 2 hour drive and so we left around 8am and headed out. When we left Palm Springs, it was beautiful, but just as we drove into LA it got quite overcast. We stepped out of the car and realized that we probably weren't dressed properly, but oh well! The day was so fun - even though Char and I were a bit cold :) We decided to buy a Park Hopper pass because we thought it would be fun to check out California Adventure. We went there first, as the close earlier, and had lunch and then started on the rides. The first one we went on was "California Soarin'"....a simulator ride that flies you over all of California. It was really cool. The next one we went on was not so cool. I think it was the scariest ride of our lives (to Char and I). I actually had to be coaxed to stay on the ride because I panicked. I don't know what we were thinking, but we will NEVER do it again. It was called the Maliboomer and its much like the Hellevator at the PNE. Needless to say, Char and I did not attempt many more rides at California Adventure. I think we were shaking for about 30 minutes after, and we had sore throats for about 2 days!

Disneyland was great - lineups weren't too bad and we were there until about 10:30pm that night.

The last couple of days we have just been spending time by the pool and eating out! Char and I have already read 3 books between the 2 of us and we all have gotten a little bit red :) It has been such a wonderful time of resting and just spending time with each other. We are definately missing our kids, but they are all doing well at home and we talk to them every night. Landon has been sleeping great for our parents and that was my biggest worry. We have a couple more days here and then I am getting really excited to give my Landon a big kiss and squeeze!
